Things Lately

My baby's are growing so fast! It's good to take a minute to just slow down and enjoy them. William is all smiles and giggles and sleeps 10 hours at night. Need I say more? Mckayla is in Preschool and LOVING it! She brings home all kinds of cute little papers she has colored or glued stuff on. She has a mild obsession with her Whitney dogs and now "moose" and "bird" from the grinch movie. She was being really quiet one day and I asked her what she was doing. She said "Shhhhh mom, they're sleeping". She proceeded to show me all of her animals in different places throughout the house that she had put to bed. What a sweetie! The last pic was from this morning after breakfast. I never get to be in the pics with my babies so I had Josh snap this one. I love it! I love my babies!

Josh turned 33

Yeah, so everything takes longer when you have two kids. That's why I'm just now posting Josh's birthday from the beginning of the month! We went to dinner at Lajolla Groves on his birthday, then had a nice family dinner at Josh's Mom's that Sunday. She made him this incredible lap quilt with a mustang logo in the middle and his favorite chocolate cake. I got him a "special book" that I wont mention much about, but lets say it makes life more enjoyable. I sure love you honey. I don't care how old you get. You'll always be older than me! HA! Happy Birthday!

Goings on of late

William will be 3 months this Thursday! Time seriously flies! He is sleeping about 8 hours at night which is super awesome and did great with his shots. He is such a good baby (when he's not gassy) and we just enjoy him a lot! Mckayla has had a fun busy summer going swimming, playing with friends, and lots of other stuff. She will start preschool September 5th. I am so excited for her to have this experience being with other kids and learning fun things! Wow, my life has changed!

My Kiddos. Yes I have TWO kids!

This is part of my journal entry I thought I would share...
My sweet little William is two months old now! Where does the time go? He has already gone from six to almost 12 pounds and is getting so chubby and cute! The poor boy gets mauled to death all the time. Everyone including me thinks he is so adorable and perfect (Because he is). He’s such a good boy too. He does get pretty gassy in the evening and fusses, but most babies seem to as well. He likes his binky A LOT! I don’t know how we’d get along without it. He also loves to be held most of the time. He has just started smiling when you talk to him excitedly and hold him in your lap facing you. I’ve yet to catch it on camera, but will as soon as he can hold it for a while. It melts my heart to see it!
It’s been a bit of a challenge nursing him because he pulls off and clamps down and doesn’t latch on to well. It’s a small price to pay for giving him the best nutrition he can have.
My favorite thing he does is try to eat my face when he’s hungry. He kind of bobs his head back and forth and its like he’s giving me a bunch of little kisses. One time I let him latch on to my chin while Josh and I were getting ready for bed. I said, “Oh look how cute! He’s eating my chin”! When I took him off I had a huge hickey! We were busting up. It was so funny!
He sleeps 5-6 hours at night now which is nice, but somehow I still can’t seem to get a full nights rest very often.
His sister really loves him and tells me so! She likes to hold him and give him kisses and still likes to do the binki. She turns the toys, lights and music on in his swing if he’s just awake in it. She also likes to put the Whitneys in all his baby furniture. She’s been really helpful when I ask her to get me things for the baby and has been patient when she has to wait for me to feed or change him.
One morning I was laying in bed with William face down on my tummy (he will sleep for a long time this way) and Mckayla came in. She layed down with her head on my chest and put her arm around the baby. She gave us a big hug and said, “Momma, I love William”. What an angel!!!

 A little ditty about Mckayla...
The wonderful nursery and primary workers in our ward have told me two funny stories about Mckayla. The first one is when she was acting up in nursery and and the teacher was talking to her asking if she wanted to be here and she said, "No! I don't want to be here! I'd rather be at Wal-Mart!" Bwah hahahahaha! She loves to eat candy "doggy bones" and go on the big bird ride there. The other is when she went up to bear her testimony in primary and Sister Carr was helping her with what to say. She got to "in the name of Jesus Christ" and Mckayla puts her finger up and stops her saying, "No no no I'm not done, I love my family, mommy and daddy and my baby brother William, and I have a new bike at home!"

She has also been singing this funny little tune at random the last few days. "And a doo gunna doo gunna doo gunna doo gunna doo"!

We saved a bird today! He was stuck in the window well outside our house for 3 days. I helped Mckayla say a prayer to Heavenly Father that the bird would climb into the bucket we lowered down there so we could lift it out. It climbed in and we pulled it up and let it out on the grass. Then we said another prayer to thank Heavenly Father for helping us save the bird. It was a neat little faith promoting experience :)

William Vaughan

Announcing William Vaughan Kissee. Born June 7th at 8:03 A.M. weighing 6 lbs 11 oz 18 inches long. He is strong and healthy! Aunt Cindy came to stay the night with Mckayla while Josh and I went to the hospital after my water broke. I was in labor for about seven hours and then he came out in 1 1/2 pushes! I was shocked how fast and easy it was! I don't have beautiful words to describe the love and joy I felt when he was born, but suffice it to say my heart grew immensely when I held him. It was like I always knew him and life would be incomplete without him. He was a little jaundiced for a few days but got over it quickly and never needed photo therapy. It was hard to have to take him back to the hospital every day and get his heel poked to check his bilirubin level. It was a lot of blood they took from his tiny body! Luckily Nana was here as the live in, multi-tasking, make your life a breeze, angel mom! I still haven't thought of the best way to thank her. William got a typical new born rash on most of his body the day after he was born and it comes and goes still. I think having Nana wash his clothes in dreft helped a lot. But mostly he is doing well nursing and sleeping. A little colic makes him fussy for a while each day. Mckayla is very sweet with him and loves to pet his head and give him the binkie. She really seemed to understand that the baby was in my tummy and now he is out! She was excited to see him and hold him in the hospital! She's always eager to show him to everyone that we see and says, "this is my baby brudder Willi-um." So cute! Speaking of cute, I'm probably biased but I think he is adorable. Overall things have been way easier the second time around. I've been able to relax and enjoy him because I'm not so uptight about everything like I was with Mckayla. I've done this before! Daddy is very proud of his fine new son! He loves him and is very sweet with him. Of course Gramma and Grandpa are smitten. They and other angel people have been wonderful to help with taking Mckayla so I can sleep and so she doesn't get bored out of her wits. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in welcoming William to our family. We are thrilled and couldn't be happier in our lives. We have a little piece of heaven in our home.
